Does anyone know of a way to get a tree control to collapse all nodes and/or all subnodes?

I can use that in at least two applications; both Outlook Express and the regedit.  Oh, and also the Windows Explorer too.

Everytime OE starts the folders with unread message are expanded.  I want to keep the option that automatically opens folders when new messages come in, but I don't want the folders to be expanded initially.  So if I can collapse all folders initially then that would be nearly perfect.

The registry editor and the Windows Explorer collapse folders without collapsing subfolders.  I don't want them to do that but since they do I want to be able to collapse all subfolders when I don't need them expanded.

My terminology might be a little off, but I assume people understand.

No. No. And, no. *sighs* 'Snot my fault.

(I wish I could retain the view I selected last time.)

For Explorer, and this isn't what you're asking (the answer is still no) see this link:
How To Customize the Windows Explorer Views in Windows XP

It's fun to play with but it really isn't what you want. I've yet to find a way to accomplish it. (Your terminology is fine, your ideals are fine, but... Well... No such critter as near as I can tell.)

Thank you.

At least I have not missed something.

Your reference to the Explorer program brings us to something else; I will create a new thread for it.

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
