See, well, I actually ORIGINALLY got my MVP status/notification for working the Microsoft public expert help chat. At the time I happened by there were things like the Blaster worm eating PCs for breakfast. (Pre-blaster but same exploit methodology but enough of my age.)
500 people in chat wasn't unusual...

In case you can't tell? I'm not into ownership or control, I enjoy provisioning. This forum, it isn't mine. I do tend to think of the blog as mine but the forum? Nope... It belongs to you folks. A chat can be useful - it is still fairly early to make one because, frankly, YOU can't moderate it 24/7 and still answer to the standards that this forum will uphold. *grins* But, you want one? Oh yeah you can bet your arse you'll be testing it - it was your idea - you can carry YOUR project through, invite users, and populate it with people if you'd like. (I would suggest you do lest I feel it is a waste of effort. That way it stays running.)
Anyhow, back on the reality bit, once I understand it well enough I doubt I'll have time to deal with it. You and the rest can figure it out though it inspires me to add to another project.
I can't tell you about said other project - it doesn't involve you.... *cough* Yet...
Eventually it will be the hub for information ABOUT the various bits of Gł Solutions or so that's the goal. All user-content, all wiki based really, with varied sets of permissions based on what their relationship with us (this is and has always been an us thing) will allow various permissions and groups. That's the idea at any rate but I wouldn't expect to see a public rollout prior to late 2007 or early 2008.
Maybe LATE this year a PM will cull beta but, well, needless to say we've got the server power, the disk space, and the capability so why not?
But, well, oh yeah... YOU want a chat? *grins* (some of the folks here actually have known me for a rather long time) YOU get one. YOU (yes that is YOU element) accept a certain level of accountability. That will be YOUR duty if YOU want it.

Anyhow...
I'm not sure - today's a painful day for reasons I'm going to keep out of the forum - I'm either going to hang out and say horrific things to anything that moves in an effort to ease my own pain or I'm going to go out and run something over. I might do both just 'cause lawyers aren't that expensive any more.
